We highly recommend staying and visiting both sides of the island. 2-4 nights is ideal on the Volcano/ Hilo East side of the island and 3-6 nights is ideal on the West side of the island in Kailua-Kona. Both sides of the island are very special in their own way and we truly hope you are able to visit both locations.

VOLCANO- EAST SIDE

If you are looking to be fully emersed in nature the Volcano rainforest is your ideal spot for waterfalls, star gazing, volcanoes, unique beaches and hiking. Imagine waking up in the morning and enjoying a fresh cup of coffee on your private lanai while admiring the sights and sounds of one of the most beautiful rainforests in the world. Or spend some time lying in your hammock with a good book while listening to pitter patter of soft rain. And then after your long day of exploring local beaches, downtown hilo and hiking in the Volcano National Forest, return to your house and soak in a private hot tub while being serenaded by the sweet chirping of coqui frogs. The next morning you will awaken to birds singing and a warm outdoor rain shower! And, if you hear rustling trees and grunting sounds, quickly grab your camera because a cute family of wild pigs is passing through your front yard. It's truly a once in a lifetime experience! The simplicity of local Hawaiian living and emersing yourself in nature is best described as magical.
